LANDSCAPING STUDIO SHOWROOM IMPLEMENTATION

The building architecture was a modern farmhouse interpretation with great indoor volumes.
There was a dual role for the showroom. Prospective clients needed to see in situ some of my work, in order to evaluate it and to have a material validation of sorts as it is not always possible nor efficient to take them to the location of completed projects specially in private houses. We always had customed made furniture, interior design elements and plants used for our tradeshows and exhibitions stands and displays, a showroom was a perfect solution to keep and reuse them. With all that in mind we created life spaces, with different destinations, in this 4000 m2 garden. The building had large window bays providing an easy and very welcome linked between indoors and outdoors.

This being a showroom it had to display many different features and functions (such as poolside lounge, outdoor kitchen, al fresco dining area, outdoor family or social gathering venue) in a single space, as a result we choose not to give it a special style or signature in order for the clients to be able to project their desires and own universe onto our works. Something too strong would not have been appropriate here. Instead, we used some specific features that we often work with, vegetal labyrinth, oversized pots, beautifully shaped and trimmed trees from around the world for the clients to discover and experience first-hand the impact that these elements can have on any landscape.

The showroom elements were operational, and as such it also served as a great venue to organize promotional events (cocktails, picnic etc.) for the press and existing or prospective clients.
This project was also used of life size tests of prototypes and new ideas, it was always changing and evolving. Elements were moved very regularly, and it was a fantastic place to evaluate items and techniques from our partners and suppliers.
The main challenge was to keep the showroom available for visiting, attractive clean and functional at all times, in all weathers and seasons. The maintenance and logistics were truly essential processes for this specific project.

This showroom was also a great opportunity to display items from artists, partners and suppliers (furniture, lighting, special crafts…) from around the world. We valued very much their contributions to making this space very special in many ways.
All our life spaces integrated art works to illustrate how important is Art in landscape element; it complements and enhance beautifully any outdoors features.
