JUNGLE CAPSULES
The idea was for the building to blend in the landscape and for the interior to be very luxurious and provide a cocoon feeling while in the wild.
Integration, sustainability, durability and maintenance were technical requirements on this project.
We needed materials that worked well together, that worked well with the wild surroundings and that would last long so we selected ironwood, teak, birch and marble.
During the study we endeavored to building a structure that could be pre-built, suitable for all the locations, implanted without machinery and would age gracefully with no complicated maintenance.
The challenge was to find balance between the micro pile steel stilt foundation of the capsules and the weight of the indoors features. Structural engineers and an architect were invaluable collaborators on this project.
This project is unique both by its architecture and by the experience it provides, being alone, in complete autonomy in an exclusive jungle capsule.
