This project was born from my collaboration with an architect. Together, we wanted to create a new stay experience, in the middle of the jungle, with minimal land impact and maximal luxury.
We designed the whole experience ourselves from development, construction, management and booking the through an app, meal planning and delivery to allow the guests, after their arrival on site, to experience being alone in a lavish jungle capsule.
We looked for outstanding locations to place our capsules, such as Kintamani (North of Ubud), Bedugul Lake etc. Our capsules are implanted on these untouched natural sites without modifying the landscape.
We created this concept as a new hospitality experience as nowadays people might want to avoid large hotels and busy neighborhoods and connect or reconnect with nature for short gateways or staycations.
We wanted the structural parts to disappear from sight by blending into the landscape, roof and walls are built from the same materials and work like scales to form a shell inspired by turtle shells.
Entering this accommodation is a unique experience with no difference between up and down, in and out.
The design priority was functionality and comfort in a very small surface with luxury materials: ironwood, teak, marble in very natural shades as they behave fabulously with natural lights.
